A Game to Remember: My Time with the Harlem Globetrotters

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph a Harlem Globetrotters game in Richmond, VA, and it was an experience I’ll treasure forever. Amidst ongoing health challenges, this assignment was a beacon of joy and an unexpected source of strength for me.

The moment I stepped into the arena on March 29th, I knew this was more than just a game; it was a celebration of skill, joy, and community. Shooting for the Harlem Globetrotters, a team renowned for their incredible talent and showmanship, was an absolute dream come true. But what made this experience even more special was the warmth and support I received from everyone involved.

From the players and coaches to the referees and fellow media personalities, the sense of camaraderie was palpable. Their encouragement and kindness lifted my spirits in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It was a reminder that behind the high-flying dunks and playful antics on the court, there’s a genuine heart and soul driving the team.

This opportunity not only allowed me to capture some truly dynamic moments through my lens but also offered me a much-needed boost during a tough time in my life. It was a testament to the power of community and the healing nature of pursuing one’s passion.

As I reflect on this unforgettable experience, I’m reminded of the importance of faith and perseverance. In moments of uncertainty or hardship, it’s crucial to remember that we are never alone in our journeys.
