Nurse D's Farewell Nevada

After graduating from Washington Preparatory High School in Los Angeles, California, Nurse D moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to attend Colorado State University to start her studies as a nurse. She graduated from Colorado State in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a minor certification in General Psychology. Nurse D moved back home to Inglewood, California to continue her career in nursing. While in California Nurse D worked as a in-home care supportive services specialist assisting in the geriatric field to those who were severely or terminally ill. Nurse D has had many awesome learning experiences in all types of departments from Pediatrics, Intensive Care, Ambulatory Care, Oncology, Obstetric and Gynecology. In 2015 she moved to Nevada where she continued her journey. While in Nevada she started working as a nurse for many of the medical facilities in the area. Nurse D also worked at one of the biggest dispensaries in Las Vegas, Nevada. Nurse D saw the benefits of cannabis and how certain strains could help maintain a better quality of life for those patients that she treated. After witnessing loved ones fight different health diagnosis and than dealing with her own Cancer diagnosis, she started researching more about the cannabis industry, other natural remedies and cures. Nurse D has also worked with many different medical personals teaching about terpenes and she has worked with over 15 cancer patients not including herself and her father who are all now in remission with the help of her studies.

In the fall of 2020 Nurse D decided to slow down some so she could start preparing to start a family. Nurse D has had an interesting journey. She has faced a lot including surviving Cervical Cancer, multiple miscarriages, one still birth and the loss of her son. Although she is looking forward to starting a family, the journey she has to take is one that many woman have to take. Infertility is something that carries a lot of stigmas, despite the fact more people have to deal with it at some point, than don't. After many unsuccessful results, Nurse D visited her doctor where she learned it was not going to be possible to conceive naturally because she has Salpingectomy. Salpingectomy is when one or both of your fallopian tubes are removed. In 2015 she began to research her options after having a tubal pregnancy and then suffering another one in 2017. Now she is ready to start the long and arduous road known as IVF. Those of you who have family members or friends that have gone thru the IVF process, or maybe you’ve experienced it firsthand, know what a difficult and trying process it can be, and that’s before you even consider the cost. In some cases, you have to have two to three rounds of IVF before you can achieve pregnancy. While the world was shut down due to Covid-19, Nurse D has continued looking into options that would give her, her family. While we are disheartened that fertility issues are not often discussed, and are not covered by many insurances, it is now clear that an intensive and extensive IVF process is her only route to achieve the path to her dream family.

While preparing to start her journey with IVF Nurse D has been given the opportunity where she is now saying  "Farewell Nevada" !!
